I made this exploration after looking at the home screen of my iPhone, seeing all the apps that had messages, but all hidden behind red dots with a white number on them.
Although this works to some degree, I imagined the idea of having different icons based on what the notification of the app is – whether someone liked your post, your order is on its way or you got a reply to your eMail!
